Internships
We are committed to providing college students with internships that enable them to translate academic knowledge into professional work experience. Pinebrook has internship positions available for students seeking to fulfill course requirements or to achieve practical experience in the child welfare/behavioral health field. To apply for internships, the faculty advisor and/or student should contact Pinebrook’s Human Resource department to discuss internship opportunities, course requirements and qualifications for the positions. During an initial interview, students are expected to supply a cover letter, resume, references and current criminal clearances. Students are provided with a job description and orientation to Pinebrook’s programs and services. Candidates then meet with the internship supervisor, who reviews the intern’s responsibilities and the agency’s expectations. This is done in an effort to ensure the quality of the internship experience.
Throughout their internships, students meet regularly with their supervisor for feedback and guidance. The supervisor will submit written evaluations of the student’s performance to the faculty advisor, according to the school’s requirements. Upon the conclusion of the internship, students are asked to complete an evaluation of their experience at Pinebrook.
