Exciting Summer Intervention Program Positions Available
Pinebrook Family Services in collaboration with the Children's Home of Easton will be facilitating an eight week summer intervention program (SIP) at two locations - Allentown and Easton.
SIP is designed for youth 10-14 years old who are at risk for mental health problems, juvenile delinquency, aggressive behaviors and truancy. This program emphasizes literacy skills, character education, and interactive techniques to maximize competencies, resilience and strengths.
SIP runs from June 28th through August 20th, 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. First week of SIP is paid staff training. SIP staff must be committed for all 8 weeks of the program.
All SIP staff must have a valid driver’s license; excellent driving record; current state, federal and child abuse clearances; and be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic differences of the service population.
- SIP Program Supervisor – Seasonal Full-Time
This position is responsible for the daily operations of SIP. This includes supervising the counselors and interns who staff the program, ensuring that the goals and objectives of SIP are being met, intervening in any crisis situations, and keeping referral sources and parents apprised of participants' status.
Qualifications for this position include: a master’s degree (preferred) or master’s level experience in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related discipline, experience working with socially and emotionally disturbed children and supervisory experience OR bachelor’s degree in the above related fields, experience working with socially and emotionally disturbed children with three years supervisory experience.
- SIP Lead Counselors – Seasonal Full-Time
This position works closely with the Program Supervisor. In the absence of the Program Supervisor, the Lead Counselor oversees the daily operations of SIP. In addition, this position is responsible for all counselor responsibilities listed below.
Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, and education or a related discipline and experience working with socially and emotionally disturbed children.
- SIP Counselors – Seasonal Full-Time
This position is responsible for facilitating groups, reviewing literacy skills through technology, and supervising recreational activities for youth, on and off site. Counselors will be responsible for assessing participants' progress throughout the program. SIP is an ideal program for a college student looking for summer employment that will provide a worthwhile learning experience at the same time.
Qualifications for this position include enrollment in a baccalaureate program or possess a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, and education or a related discipline and experience working with socially and emotionally disturbed children.
Position for High Fidelity Wraparound (HFWA) program
Pinebrook Family Services is seeking applicants to be part of a new evidence-based initiative, High Fidelity Wraparound (HFWA), proven effective in supporting youth, ages 16 to 21, with complex emotional needs to live successfully in the community with their families.
- High Fidelity Wraparound (HFWA) Family Support Partner - Full Time
The Family Support Partner (FSP) is someone who has the experience of raising a child with severe emotional and/or behavioral health challenges. This provides an empathetic link to the parent through which the FSP supports and extends the work of the HFWA facilitator to ensure the phases and activities, principles and theory of change are accomplished and provides direct services to the parents to better ensure an individualized approach.
Qualifications for this position include: Life experience of raising a child with severe emotional and behavioral challenges; minimum age of 21; must have outgoing personality that supports engaging people from different cultures, ages, and backgrounds; possesses understanding and experience with different systems, including schools, mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, healthcare and others; possesses extensive knowledge of local community resources and ability to engage them; available to work flexible and on-call hours; and must have valid driver’s license , insurance, excellent driving record and reliable transportation.

- Visitation Monitor – Part Time Flexible
The incumbent of this position provides transportation and monitoring of family visits for children who generally are in substitute care such as foster care or residential treatment services. Children range in age from infancy to eighteen years. He or she ensures the safety of children at all times and may provide families with education/coaching/modeling of appropriate parental behavior. Professional and Para-professional positions are available; ideal position for someone looking for supplemental income.
Qualifications for this position include: a high school diploma and at least three years experience working with at-risk and/or dependent children and their families or a bachelor’s degree in one of the human services and some child welfare experience; ability to lift up to forty pounds; and excellent driving record, reliable care and proper liability insurance on his or her vehicle; and interest and ability to work flexible work hours.
- Drivers – Part Time Flexible
The incumbent of this position provides transportation to and from family visits and appointments for children who generally are in substitute care such as foster care or residential treatment services. Children range in age from infancy to eighteen years. He or she ensures the safety of children at all times. This position is ideal for someone looking to earn supplemental income.
Qualifications for this position include: a high school diploma and at one year experience working with at-risk and/or dependent children and their families and some child welfare experience; ability to lift up to forty pounds; and excellent driving record, reliable care and proper liability insurance on his or her vehicle; and interest and ability to work flexible work hours.
- Psychotherapist - Part Time
Pinebrook has outpatient behavioral health clinics located in Allentown, Bangor and Easton, PA. Incumbents of the psychotherapist position provide outpatient counseling to children and families and meet with assigned clients in either individual, group, joint or family sessions in accordance with established practice and accreditation standards and agency expectations.
Qualifications for this position include at least a Master's degree in psychology, social work counseling or a related discipline; experience doing psychotherapy; and some understanding of managed-care concepts and willingness to provide treatment and work within the system.
